The RATP Foundation (the company, which operates the subway in Paris..and the Gautrain in South Africa, and which is the 5th leargest public transporter in the world) has been visiting Sizanani for 5 days last week. Florence Rodet, general secretary of the RATP, Patrick Guérin, from RATP international, a journalist Dominique Audibert (who used to be a senior reporter at the French weekly newspaper Le Point) and a photographer François Daburon met all the people involved in Sizanani mentorship program (Linda, Rosinah, Valérie, Monique from Career wise, Esti and Kati from Absa Foundation)
They visited Alex township, with Phillip Bokaba from Motsethabo Tours, spent time at Alex high, and spoke to some learners, students, mentors on Saturday at St Mary’s and during the Acrobranch fun outing.
The journalist and photographer went to UJ and visited the homes of Soul, Charles and Mitchell, the 3 students in engineering, who got a bursary from the RATP Foundation. And of course, they went on the Gautrain...
The pictures will be exhibit in a train station in Paris, with other projects supported by the RATP Foundation.
